A long day working cattle

Got the horse fed and saddled a little before 5 am and just got
in the house at 730 . Horse fell on me after he slipped in a
hole up on a steep hillside the he couldnt get off me because
he was caught in a tree with his legs above him luckily
another guy was right there and was able to get the horse up .

Legs ok?I always managed to get clear when my horse would go down while working cattle but except for drainage ditches and a bayou here and there,its FLAT here.have not worked cattle in 7-8 years and I sure do miss it
 
Everyones legs are fine thankfully Mines pretty sore and it was the same one that got landed on two years ago . It happened so fast I didnt have time do anything but go oh crap
 
Glad all is good, I was walking my horse back to the barn one winter the path was icy even though I put ashes on it, a dog barked half mile away she spooked for some reason, and fell over on me as she slipped on the ice, lucky I fell in 20 inches of snow with her on me, no injuries, she just got a cut on a fetlock, At her age Im surprise she got up so quick she didnt bolt or anything I got up and walked her to the barn,

I would love to come work cattle with you but I would want a good mule, I had one. There is something about the open range that is so beckoning. I liked working cattle with a horse or mule, they all seemed to have a mutual respect for each other.
 

Glad no one got seriously hurt. I've only worked cattle on horseback here on the farm, nothing wild west about it. I did find out real fast that once a horse picks up on what you want in regards to cutting that they move a lot faster than I am generally prepared for! :lol: I didn't come out of the saddle, but I bet it would have made a funny video.
