A few pictures my cousin sent that runs the harvester for my neighbour. They grow about 700 acres and about 7 different varieties. Roughly 300 acres of seed they use and sell and about 400 for French fries.

nice, reminds me of stompin tom and the potato song or is it the ketchup song, and bud the spud.

Its been a lot of years since tobaccos been a significant crop in this area, processing has pushed potatoes along over the years.

Id say hundred weight per acre? They like to get a million pounds off of around 35 acres in a good year.

They have what is called a clod hopper. A high tension steel roller where all stones and potatoes land on at a precise angle. Stones bounce further than potatoes and land on a different conveyor.

That is very nice! I saw a self propelled Grimme at a local dealer but I think its still there

Haha me too Phil! We worked on lights at Cavendishs own storage facility on Monday. 12.5 million per bin capacity and they have 10 of them!
