2017 Motor Trend Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Bolt EV.

General Motors has announced a recall of 50,932 2017 through 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EVs in the U.S. The problem is the chance of a fire in the high-voltage battery pack, which could occur even when the vehicle is stopped, parked, and not plugged in to charge.

I learned a valuable lesson at 11, don't buy anything new that just hit the market.
Dad bought the first Ford 6000 SOS and the SOS left my dad SOL in the field.

Ever hear of a tractor recall? The first 6000 was so bad Ford gave my dad a new tractor, Only catch, he got a tractor minus tires. Dad got a new Blue ford with his old tires. The first 6000 was red.

If I were to have a serious mental breakdown and buy an EV I would consider Tesla only because they been building the for a while. So far I'm still of sound mind, I think.

I think I'll stay away for cars they call car of the year.

Why would an electric car be called a bolt? I would think it would be called a volt or better yet junk. Never could keep a Government motors running. Or a generous motors either.

GM had already used 'Volt' for its hybrid. But Bolt rhymes with Volt, so it made sense, at least to GM marketing.

With the sheer increase in the number of parts needed on a new car, I'm surprised there aren't many more recalls. Not a GM fan really, but I've got a book called Sixty Years of Chevrolet and it really is good reading. Here's another Chevrolet recall. The car was a dismal flop, but I really wish I had one of these. Actually, I wish I had ten.

Right on TF .... as in the Tampa Bay Lightning (Stanley Cup Champions the last two years) ..... nickname is the Bolts, I think one of their jerseys uses that on the front.

Every wonder why you local GM dealers service department is always swamped with work... Their Red head must work at night all night every night. : )

The only electric car(s) I'd be interested in buying would be a Baker, Detroit, or Rauch & Lang. Unfortunately, any of those are probably beyond my budget even if I could find one. Saw Jay Leno's Baker on TV the other night. Cool!

George. The ones we see around here in south Tx are called Volts. Just backing up the post below. Wingnut

GM's track record with electric cars has not been a complete success. Here's an example of another car that had a complete recall, making a few customers unhappy. However, in this case, the cars were all leased instead of owned.

Look at just page one, funny, pie, show question, Sunday puzzle, Sunday funday, yet you chose my post to complain about tractors??? Seriously? Don't see you mention the others don't talk about tractors.

If people complain, they are welcome to talk about their tractor.
Kim doesn't like what we post POOF.
