Finished early soybeans

We finished the early soybeans yesterday. Had one field that went 77.8 bu per acre. That was weighed across scales and 13% moisture. Most likely the best beans I have ever grown. Not sure how they got that good with the limited rainfall we have this year. Located in SW WI. They were planted the last of April. I had 2 notill fields planted the same day that were killed by frost. It was the latest frost we ever had. I hope the corn surprises me as well. Tom

I will be happy with that, My beans not quite ready yet, also in very dry spot in So. Wi. I've always thought beans don't mind dry as much as corn, heard test wt low.

We did an 80 yesterday 77 bu and 76 on the other side of the creek. Curious as to how it would yield as one side was fall plowed and the other was no-till for the 40th year. Big problem with Palmer Amaranth on that farm. 2.6 maturity btw.

Beans at my house were planted mid-late May, haven't even started turning color, filled out yet. Corn and peanuts are being picked now. We're in Southampton county, bordering Northampton county, N.C..

I guess that I'm going to be the only guy with poor beans this year. Had extensive rain at three different times during the growing season and the waterhemp got away from me in a few spots. Get the fields cleaned up and move onto next year. Still for the prices offered it makes me mad that a money making opportunity got hosed so to speak. Good thing all the bills were paid with last year's money but I wanted to upgrade on a combine and a splitter planter would have been nice.
