Warranty time

I purchased a new Samsung (out of box) Refrigerator meaning it has some cosmetic damage, hardly noticeable. I came without a manufacture warranty. It is running fine now. Anyone have any experience on Samsung appliances? I can buy a three year warranty, but new appliances usually last least 2-3 years. I have had my share of repair men at my house in the past. I do think things are made better now. Any thoughts? Stan

Like there tvs but have gave up on them after the third one died two weeks ago. All three died after a month of being out of the one year warranty.

My daughter has a french door one with freezer on bottom. Every couple of weeks there is ice in the refrigerator from water pooling up on the bottom. freezes the drawers shut. Samsung's fix is to unplug it for a couple hours every week and mop out the water. It's a drain tube in the rear that freezes shut. As far as any repair person showing up in person, won't happen. Nobody will work on them around here. Go luck on your purchase. Hopefully no problems.

37 chief,

They will usually work past the warranty period. Ice makers will usually be first thing to stop working. Mine did before the warranty ran out.

No extra warranty for me. Some swear by it,

Guido.

Samsung dishwasher with no problems in at least 5 years. Samsung TV, new about 8 months ago, no problems other than us being not as smart as it is.

Like a few others we have the French door model with the freezer on the bottom. I think its around 4 or 5 years old. No issues.

I had a front load Samsung washer for 10yr just broke the drum mount, bought another Samsung washer top load with agitator love it. Have a french door Samsung refrigerator Had to put a back fan other than that good to go. Service not so good around here but I can do most of it myself.

Just bought a Samsung refrigerator today at Lowe's.989 plus tax, bought the 5 year extended warranty 189 dollars.Hope it lasts 10 years.

First, I don't now why this is in tractor talk because it has nothing to do with tractors. But I had a 4 year old Samsung refrigerator develop a freon leak and the factory service approved company that came out to check it out said they would have to replace the the whole system for $1000 which is what I paid for it new. I junked it, 10 year warranty on compressor means nothing if there is a leak. No samsung appliances for me ever again.

You are right it doesn't have nothing to do about tractors. I have a friend who is into tractors also. Sometimes when he is visiting we actually don't
talk about tractors all the time. I also don't eat the same thing at every meal. Stan

I've never owned a Samsung. Refrigerators usually last me longer than the door gaskets.
On the other hand, I've yet to have a dishwasher or washer last 5 years without needing a repair. A whirlpool washer had 5 service calls before I got a full refund. Maytag dishwasher lasted 3 years. It needed all new guts, including motor. So I will buy a 5 year extended warranty and I save money in the long run. One service call to my place in country is more than an extended warranty.

Lol, ya Im with u on that ! And Im not big on spices either as some say a change to spice things up. Even George Jones says whos gonna fill our shoes ! , wont be the young guys cause they dont know a carburetor from a spark plug. But there is some that do.
This is more like a tractor face book for us old guys, without all the stupid stuff.

We bought a Samsung dishwasher this spring. One of their top of the line models. We bought the warranty. Lasts 8?years. To many electronics in them that can go bad. Our 5 year old GE frig had the water line freeze and gas stove had issues. Both covered under 10 year warranty .

My inlaws have a Samsung fridge. Their ice maker has never worked right, freezes up continually. Repair people have been out,but they finally gave up. They also have a Samsumg range with dual oven. Took a couple repair visits, but it finally works right I think.

Go back to the seller and tell them that there is concealed shipping and ask for a new one or ask for compensation for the damage.

I brought a Samsung like that 4/5 years ago it was so big they had to take it apart to get it in the house. I took doors down while taking the front door off they could not wait they hit mom's china cabinet right on the corner. I was less than 5 min from having the door off and the china cabinet slid back.

I waited till they made a offer on the damage $500 till I told mom about the damage. It surprised me mom said she gave $500 for the living room set used 40 years ago It was not perfect then. It was willed to a niece so it was not gonna be mine let the niece worry about it.

I looked at the reviews on line they were BAD. Not knowing if I would like it I brought it. The big complaint was the ice maker its noisy as all get out. They were right about 11 PM it sounds like a someone in there with a hammer trying to get out. You would think someone is knocking on the front door of the house.

I have learned to pay it no mind its been a good frig the only think I don't like is the freezer part upper setting is to cold to keep ice cream in it. I don't miss getting on my knees to look for something.
