6 volt battery

Hi,

I have a JD 420U. I am storing it for the winter and removing the battery (6volt positive ground). When I put
the battery back in do I need to excite the generator? If so what is the procedure.

Its okay to POLARIZE the Generator BEFORE start up by using a jumper wire to momentarily flash/jump from BAT over to the GEN/ARM terminal on a Voltage Regulator or a Cutout Relay and you should get a small spark. This is true and okay to do regardless if the genny actually needs polarized.

Thank You! Can I go right to the generator? The voltage regulator is behind the instrument panel.
