Fuel system failure

I have a long 445 with a 3 cyl utb engine farm tractor on tue it was running fine on wed it would not start I checked the lift pump and had good pressure, I was getting fuel to the injector pump head but no fuel to the injectors. I am in a learning curve need help on priming the pump. If in-fact that could be the problem. And if I have to remove pump how do I set the timing on the pump to remove thanks for your help

Can't give info specific to that engine, but in general, if there was fuel in the tank, and no air introduced, it won't need priming or purging.

If you had the system open, it may have air in it now, but that's probably not why it would not start initially.

How is the engine shut down? Electric solenoid or mechanical linkage? Can you hear the solenoid click or see that the linkage is moving? That would be the first think to check if it was starting and running and suddenly failed without warning.

If you think there is air in the system, look for air bleed ports, manually bleed the filters and lines, then crack loose the lines at each injector, crank the engine until you get solid fuel, tighten the lines. Just be careful not to overheat the starter. But if there was a preexisting fuel problem, the lines will not bleed with any amount of cranking.

I would not go deeper until you have a good game plan. Too easy to multiply problems and costs.

Plow welcome to YT! I would suggest going to the site in the link and purchase a pdf service manual for your tractor. It is low cost and will give you the info about pulling the pump if needed. Plus other info needed to service or repair your tractor. Also if you want to add info or answer a question by another poster t topic or request click the ..reply.. button in whatever thread or reply in your are speaking to, This will keep everything in this one location so it can be understood better.

How long since fuel filter was changed? Is fuel tank venting? How much fuel is in the tank? The more fuel in the tank the easier it is to get fuel to inj pump.

First place I'd check is whether the shut down lever is stuck. You push the stop handle inwards while starting the engine & it should spring back to the run position once you leave it. Then you pull it to stop. Check the operation of this before looking deeper.
They are very good starters usually - mine never needed the thermostart until down around freezing point.
