Electric tachometers

I ordered an electric tachometer to work on Kawasaki mule 4010 to get the fuel injection adjustments set right. I just wrapped wire around spark plug wire. Very accurate. Battery powered. Battery can be replaced too. It's not a round tack, but it's accurate.

I would start looking at ebay or Amazon for electric tachometer.

I got a VDO 0 - 3000 rpm from Summit Racing about 10 years ago and put it on my MF 50 converted to 12v with a generator and breaker point ignition. It bounces around some but give me a reference point when I'm mowing etc. And I don't have to look at that annoying hole in the dash, ha.

I built one as an EE college student for my car. Been a long time ago but as I recall It sensed the pulse of the ignition. So I built it so I could calibrate it for any number of cylinders. If Id look hard enough I think I could find my documentation. But with age related failing memory and with all the stuff I have collected over the years, it may be hard to find.
