Fuel system failure

Plow share

New User
I am having injector pump issues,I have fuel to the pump but no fuel out,I feel I primed the pump properly any help would help also if I have to remove the pump how do I set every thing? Thank you very much

Is this a farm tractor or a caterpillar diesel in a bulldozer? I doubt if you have failure. My experience is that it is not yet primed. If you were to share the secret of what makes you "feel" that you have primed it properly maybe someone can help you.

wow now we have to read minds! fuel to the pump means nothing if this is some old engine sitting around for years. no engine make , no pump make, so how are we to have a clue??

Just finished up a 4000 Ford today that had to have the injector pump overhauled. Tractor had set up a couple of years with a PTO problem. Sent the pump to the shop last week for the rebuild. Same problem, fuel to pump, none to injectors. New filters, tank drained and inspected and all lines blown out. Runs perfectly now. Frozen telescoping shaft on Brush hog caused the tractor to spit out the PTO shaft. Replaced bearing, seal and two snap rings. Used the old trusty broom handle and a big glob of grease to get the thrust washer back in place and slid the shaft back in place. She's ready to go back to work.

SV,
I'll admit, I have very little experience working on diesel engines.
I bought a new Kubota because I have one dealer in town that sells tractors, Kubota CaseIH dealer. They have been around since 1967.

You may have called me cheap, but if I have a problem, my Kubota will go for a ride to the dealer that's less than 10 miles away. And I know I'll gladly pay too much.

Shouldn't have to cyberstalk someone to put the pieces together.

I'm sorry if it sounds like some of us are "piling on" but you have to help us help you. Hope you understand how frustrating it can be when someone comes along and posts, "It's broke, how do I fix it?"

Further, don't start multiple threads on the same subect. You basically asked the same questions here as you did in the other thread.

If you have more details to add, use the "REPLY" button. It helps alleviate confusion and reduces the number of frustrated replies you get.

Barnyard, I don't get frustrated, I just hit the back button.

Loosen the lines at the pump or the injector make sure you have fuel coming out there. When you do it should start hitting on cylinders or try to. Then tighten as it tries to run a couple will get it going.
