and it did pay off , i saw him swoop down and got a mouse for lunch. finished combining today and had the straw baled right behind me. they are still hauling it off the field at the moment. i need to get that field sprayed due to infested with quackgrass.

I had hawks perching on the power poles that went in my driveway all the time. The power coming to my farm was trenched in this past summer, and the poles were removed. I sorta wish I had left one up for them.

I get a kick out of how they will fly away from a forty foot high perch as you approach, but once they get lunch in their talons they won't leave it until you get three feet away.

Big round bales are one of the best things that ever came along for the Hawks.....I see them used by them a lot.

i sold the straw in the swath and she was baling with a john deere 7810 tractor and john deere baler just forget the number model 6 something i think it was. first time a saw someone bale so fast , must have been going 12 mph. did not leave straw behind so must be good.

I had one in my hay loft the other day, never have I seen that in all my years , a Hawk indoors. He got a stray chicken that was living up there, I figure he must have been very hungry.

How fast a 569 baler can eat hay is limited by horsepower with 120 at the PTO.
Neighbor's baler went down in the alfalfa field next to the prairie hay I was baling a couple years ago, boss had me finish it for them.

I was baling in road gear to limit leaf loss.
