Experience with Acculink or Link V-belts?

Was curious if anyone has used an Acculink or another style link belt on their tractors? I have a Ford 6610 that has a front mounted hydraulic pump. It is needing the fan/alternator belt changed and it appears to be a decent job as this belt is routed through several pulleys.

Not afraid to get my hands dirty but was just curious if anyone has saved some time by using one of these belts? I have seen them used on plenty of wood working applications but not too many tractor related posts.

If not, I will need to slide the hydraulic pump off, and probably stretch the belt over each one of the fan blades to get it off.

Thanks!

Side note: Just picked this tractor up a month ago. New front tires/wheels, new muffler, new pre-cleaner, new rear boot seals. Still need to button up a few things but happy with how it is turning out.

They work well and seem to last OK. they stretch when first installed, so I would make it as small as I could get it ofar the last pulley,
then expect to adjust it maybe 3 times for the first 20 hours. Jim

I don't know anything about those belts, but that sure is a dandy looking tractor. I hope it works out really well for you.

Thank you. Can't take all the credit. Took some inspiration from other tractors I saw online....but these old Ford's are hard to beat!

Ran them on a forklift for years at my shop. I honestly have no idea how the original belt was installed unless on the line at the factory. Half the unit would have had to come apart to put a regular belt on.

Brother in law tried one on his car ages
ago. It was always getting loose. He
just kept tightening it but eventually
the outside edges curled up and it
bottomed out in the sheaves. It was done
then.

I have one on my tablesaw and it's great
there but I wouldn't put one on the
tractor.

I had one on an 8n with Wagner loader it worked fine the PO. put it on so I have no idea how many years it was on there but I had it for 10 and used it at least once a week.

I have used them with good results but as post expect to adjust / remove a link or 2 before it has stretched and seated in be sure to get the right width and install them in the right direction my advise is if its next to impossible to change the regular belt then ok but otherwise go OEM

I put one on my forklift, works well, I
am happy. Even though they stretch and
you have to remove a few links at some
point still much less work then tearing a
whole machine apart. It has been on my
Pettibone a couple years and quite a few
hours run time. I would stick with an
original not a cheap brand.

I would try them. You have nothing to loose. If you do replace, put 2 on and zip tie one out of the way. That is what we did with our tractors and trucks with front mounted pumps at the city before I retired. We were known to keep equipment for 30+ years.
