4610o Ford loafer and tear lift slooow.

Help needed on hydraulic issue
Have a 1988 4610o Ford the hydraulics on the front end loader and rear lift are slow. Moving the control valve adjuster on right side does nothing. Fluid level is good
Looking for advice ...do I need to rebuild the pump ?
Is there a filter I dont see ?
This old girl wasnt taken care of.
I rebuilt the front end already. Have good mechanical skills have built engines, worked on bailers disc cutters... machinist by trade.
Thanks for any tips advice part Numbers etc

Im not familiar with the orchard model but a 4610 should have a spin on suction filter located under the left foot board
Id start by changing that first

Thanks guess I overlooked it. Property Best to drain the system. Whats the correct steps?
Warm up, all cylinders retracted, and drain .
What are all the places I should drain from?
Is the pump on the side of the engine only power steering?

If I remember correctly you gave me advice on the front end repairs. And helped me identifying this tractor.
Thanks Sir

Lots has been happening since then. Bought Dads place from siblings then younger brother passed

Hows the fluid look, milky, dirty color, burnt smell?
If any if those change it, if it looks and smells ok just change the filter
4610 can have 2 different hydraulic systems
Standard system has a pump mounted in the right side of the axle housing near the back of the foot board
Deluxe hydraulic system could have a second hydraulic pump mounted on the left side of the engine near the back of the block, that pump will have a spin on filter mount on the top of the pump pointing towards the front of the tractor
The drain plug for the rear axle and hydraulics is located under the tractor in front of the drawbar hanger
A 2nd plug farther forward is the transmission drain plug

Lower the 3 point lift and the loader and then remove the drain plug
The rear axle holds 10-12 gallons of fluid so make sure to have a large enough container or a few buckets to catch all of the oil

Great Ill get the filter and drain the system. I know it looks milky my first thought was where was water getting in well new gear shift boots are on the way. I do keep it under cover but It was out stuck in a mud hole for a few weeks in the rain sure thats what started this conundrum...
Dont have the pump with filter on the engine as described, just the gear drive power steering pump off the front left side of the engine.
If I have to pull the pump in the back is it fairly straight forward to rebuild? Looks like I Need to invest in a Good Shop Manual ....

The standard Ford 4610 has a 7 gpm pump IIRC. You won't get blazing speed out of the loader or the
three point with that. I think the deluxe system with two pumps was like 12gpm and that would speed
up the loader and three point significantly.

Shifter boots only help keep water out of the transmission and even then it would be minimum. Temperature changes cause the trans and axle housings to sweat on the inside thus introducing water into the oil. You could keep one inside a shed where it never got wet and it will still get some condensation in the oil.
Just to be sure, you are checking the hydraulic fluid level with the dip stick on the left side of the axle housing under the upper lift arm
The dip stick in the trans top is just for the trans fluid.

So no no dip stick so will use the bolt (unpainted) for checking level. Pulling a quick sample from the drain plug on the bottom.
Also will have to drain and due the transmission that looks milky.
For the power steering??? Use regular power steering fluid or same as trans or rear end??
Thanks again All
