Hi all. Looking to put a toplink on the new-to-me Deere 2510. Being a class 2 system I went to TSC and got the class 2 toplink. I could not get the ball end into the linkage in the back of the tractor. Additionally the class 2 toplink pin didnt fit the holes.

I read somewhere that Deere maybe used an oddball toplink on this tractor (was it a 7/8 maybe). Is that true or am I doing something wrong.

Thanks.

The pin at the tractor end is not standard cat I or II. Cat I being 3/4 inch, and cat II being 1 inch. I believe you're correct on 7/8 inch. I don't know how much they cost now, but I bought an after market [copy of original] one {A&I} for mine.

The ones Im seeing have some sort of hook on the end. Is there a way to just get the ball end to screw into a standard toplink? Guess Ill be googling tonight.

As I recall, yes, you can screw a different end into the JD center piece, if you have the correct thread. JD used the hook end on those tractors. You buy a ball and mount it permanently on the implement.

Correct diameter pin for connecting center link to 251 is .875"0. I think if you get acquainted with factory 2510 centerlink with the link with a hook & use it a few times you'll like the hook better than ball type end.
