The Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb is an annual festival that takes place on the first Sunday of October in Newport, Indiana, organized and sponsored by the Lions Club of Newport and the Town of Newport. The main event is a series of timed runs in which antique automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles from the Steam, Brass, Vintage, Antique, and Classic Car eras ascend the town's steep, 1800-foot-long Main

I went to the Newport hill climb and saw this Crosley car. Sometime around 1952 us kids were driving a car like this in a field, it ran out of gas. Next morning, the fence was cut and the car was gone. Never did find the car. I couldn't find any police report of it being stolen.

A few years back I went to the Newport Hill Climb and there was a Crowley just like the one we had. The owners of the car live in Plymouth Indiana. A town about 30 miles east of where it was stolen.

NO proof that was our car. Just ironic a red Crosley turned up so close to where we were living in 1952.

Yep. Bevel gear shaft driven..

You will also notice that there is no removable cylinder head.
