Rainy Saturday projects

Rained nearly all day in central alabama. Started out at an estate sale, bought a bunch of nice tools. Craftsman stuff, the older real Craftsman! Then the parts store for a head gasket and copper spray. Got the head back on the Farmall A I bought the other day. We got it running with in a few minutes of getting it in the barn, but it wasn't running good. Took valve cover off and found 2 stuck valves and a bent push rod. Pulled the head off the A and off the stuck B. Little parts swapping and it's running great. Got stuck motor off B and good motor off the A. B is back together and on all 4 tires. Mick tried to take stuck motor apart, big sledgehammer to drive pistons out. Governor was rusted solid, big mess. This afternoon the B will get finished up. Hope to drive it around!

Will save anything good off the B engine then put it the A together for yard art.....

Sunshine here all day long yesterday, looked like all of Bama was getting rain except us, luckily it cooled off for yall some.

This the rain from Nicholas we talking about???

Boy sure glad that thing finally moved on. We got well over a foot of rain out of that storm.

Strong cold front coming this week with a high of 78 by Thursday. Thats real early in the year for us. Usually dont get out first cold front to about the week of halloween.

But bring it on. Cold fronts making it this far south usually signals the end to hurricane season. It cools the gulf water preventing storms from getting strong.

John. I guess some rain was from that storm. Don't know where today's rain is coming from. Or the next several days either

You mentioned a head gasket and copper spray..... Copper Coat? Made especially for head gaskets. I wouldn't replace one without it!

Glad to hear from you. You recovered from Ida? I know you were just thrilled to hear about Nicholas headed your way after suffering through Ida.

Thanks for thinking of us Mark.
Got electricity after 11 days on a portable generator. Cable/internet came on for about 24 hours and then went back off. Starting 4th week with no tv or internet. Grandson is about to drive me to doing drugs.

I will be dealing with damage caused by ida for months. Some south of me in the worse areas are predicting 3 to 5 years for a full recovery.

Other than the flooding in New Orleans from the levee break this storm was stronger and did more wind damage than Katrina because we took a direct hit from the eastern eye wall this time.

But we will rebuild and live to fight another day.

Your son has a nice looking mullet . I remember those days back in the 80s when I rocked one.

Nicholas wandered around Louisiana like a drunk all last week and brought T-showers everyday. He finally ambled on over east Saturday. We dodged most of them but the humidity was terrible. I have my 8n engine ready to go back together and have it on the carport because it has concrete floor but the humidity and heat was like a sauna and I had to work on it at night when it was cooler. Fall weather is coming Thursday though!
