Older Manure Spreader - HELP

Hoping to get some help on an older manure spreader my neighbor bought me as a gift...I think it is a New Idea. He has all the stuff at his house but I am trying to get some info.

He found this in an old barn for very cheap. Anyway, he was towing it home and it "kicked" into gear on him at about 35mph. It broke the piece shown below. I for the life of me can't figure out exactly what the part is called, or where I might find one. I know this is a long shot but hoping for some expert help here...

Thank you!

It doesn't look like New Idea to me. My dad was a New Idea dealer and I was part of the assembly crew. There is a nice clear part number on the broken piece, someone on here ought to recognize what company used that numbering system.

I've been studying it. I think it's an Oliver judging by the handles and the hitch. That part will probably be difficult to find. To find a used one, I'd try Fry's salvage yard first. FRY'S MACHINERY, INC.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I looked at some photos and it does appear to be an Oliver spreader.

I will try Fry's Salvage!

You know what? I think you can fix that. That turns so slowly and it does not need to be real close tolerance, just go to work with some brazing and I bet you could get it to work.

A friend or machine shop with a plasma cutter or torch should be able to make one.You have a nice pattern to work with.

PartsDepot, Wisconsin branch website says 2 in stock part # SL315.
No guarantees this is correct part.

Cannot thank you enough for this tip...I called them and they posted a picture on the website for me. It is the exact part.

They drop-shipped it to me for a very reasonable price too.

FrogCreekRanch, You are welcome. Were you able to order direct or have to go through a dealer? Thanks

I had to order through a local dealer they use, but I was able to talk to Parts Depot directly. Super nice folks. They added a picture on the website for me in less than an hour...great customer service.
