1066 injection pump

Can the injection pump be removed if flywheel is at 18 degrees and the pump timing mark visible under the side cover and then still be in time as long as the mark on the pump is put back with the mark visible again or could it be off 180 degrees ?

I have always lined up the marks. Removed the battery connection. So it can't be started. From all the pumps I have done. They are keyed to the gear.

Yes. That pump turns at engine speed, when the head gear Mark is in the window and front hub mark is at pointer, pump is on number one cylinder. When hub mark is with pointer and head gear Mark is NOT visible, pump is ready to fire number six cylinder.
