1855 Hydraulic Outlet Problem

Working on a new to me 1855 Oliver tractor. When I am trying to connect the hydraulic hoses to the remote (only has one) I can not get the hoses plugged into one side of the outlet. I can plug in to the other side no problem tractor running or not, but I can not plug into the other side. Even after I shut the tractor off and move the hydraulic lever, I still can not get the pressure to release. I end up having to crack the line to bleed the pressure. Once I get the hose hooked up the remote seems to work fine, always lifts and lowers the implement. I have tried multiple implements and even just my jumper hose. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

Pioneer 9200 series connect under pressure couplings. We run
them on every Oliver we own. Solves all your issues. Oliver used
pilot operated hydraulic valves with load holding poppets.
Moving the leaver with the engine off does nothing because
there is no hydraulic pressure to unseat the poppet valves.
Thats why Olivers are known to be a bear to hook up remote
lines to unless you have connect under pressure couplings.

What Oliverkid said. You need couplers that will connect under pressure, The ones with the levers are the best.
