This is a tractor of sorts. It is a Prime Mover LD 50 Wheel Loader. Yet another project my brother bought thinking we could make it go. It has a Continental TM 27 gas engine.
I would really like to find a service manual on both the loader, and the engine. Can anyone direct me to information about this loader, or the engine? Thanks Greg
 
Good luck with that!! Prime Mover was a division of Hon Industries in Muscatine, Ia. probably back in the 70's. They split off and Prime Mover was a stand alone division of Hon. Raymond Corp bought Prime Mover and discontinued the loaders, etc and concentrated on electric forklifts sometime in the 80's. Raymond is now part of Toyota Material Handling. There may only be one or 2 people still in Muscatine that remember Prime Mover. You could try to call Raymond Muscatine and ask to talk to the oldest engineer there, but don't get your hopes up. You might be able to find something on the engine, but it looks the me like you have a snowballs chance in a hot place with Prime Mover. Chris

I live in IL. now, but was born and raised in Muscatine Iowa. I started at Prime Mover right out of high school (1972)as a welder. The plant was located on old highway 22, east of town. We never made anything like this. Everything we built was electric. Material handling equipment, fork lifts, and personal transports. I have no idea what year this unit was made.

Sold to Lull, then the skid steer line was sold to Volvo. Lull did support the Prime Mover for a while. The parts business ended up at Minnparr.

I have an LD50 too. I had a parts manual, I would need to see if there is anything else in it, if it hasnt walked away.
