Most farmers planted early, around April 5th.

This farmer only has his equipment outside when it's time to use them. No yard ornaments.

Yep, oldest son has corn ready and the combine has been outside almost a week.
He planted mid March.

Phill,
The son took over the operation after he graduated from Purdue many years ago.
His dad turned the farm into an LLC. Otherwise this farm would be in the historical records for being in the same name for over 100 years.
He farms thousands of acres. No junk in his yard.
I think death taxes may make many large family farms turn into LLC or something to prevent the government from taking half the farm when owner dies.

My daddy said JD are green to match the color of money.

Its getting really hard to keep governments from wanting inheritance tax. We normally steered clear of green equipment mostly due to cost but they really do for the most part make a great product.

In places, corn for immediate delivery is priced up to a $1 more a bushel than for October delivery. So starting promptly may allow them to capture some significant premiums.
