White 6175 tractor problems

Since my planting tractor went down. I had to purchase another tractor. I found a Agco White 6175. Test drove it had the local dealer check it out. All was fine. Then drove it home 13 miles and a red light came on. It was the power shift temp light. So by the time I called the guy I bought it from, the light went out. So I changed the engine oil and put it to work. I used it to pull a springtooth and 15 row planter. I would get about 2 hours of field work time and the light would come on. So I would use the other tractor on the disk or whatever for 2 hours and come back to the white and I would get 30 minutes and the light was back on. If you drove it on the road, you would get about 30 minutes in high gear. I called the dealer to have them send someone out, the said they were busy and it would be a week and a half. Well by that time I was done planting. I have taken the tractor to the dealer. I don't know how that is going to work out. Any ideas? TIA

google white 6175 tans problems Lots of info If you have original filter cut it open and see if you find metal shavings, Good luck

I don't know if those had the same hydraulic pump that the earlier 2-135 and 2-155 had or not. My 2-135 had the same identical problem you describe. Those pumps get worn and bypass too much oil through the case drain line. I put a new pump on mine. That was probably 8-10 years ago and it's still fine. If you still had it at home, I'd tell you how to do the case drain test, but unless you want to go to the dealer and do it, it wouldn't do you much good.

They finally looked at the tractor yesterday. I wish they had written down what I told them was wrong with the tractor. They thought it actually stop the engine???? So I reexplained that the PWR SHIFT TEMP red light would come on. Then I would shut down the tractor. So we will see what they find out. Another question I have for those tractors, the throttle lever is on the arm rest, when you push if fully forward, it will get you 1500 rmp's if you want more than that, you have to hold down the foot pedal. I have been told it needs a new throttle cable. I have also been told that the throttle lever old goes to 1500-1700 and that's all you get from the lever? any thoughts?

They changed the trans filter and added what they think is the correct sending unit for the PWR SHFT TEMP warning light. However that did not fix the problem. 2 hours of use the light comes on. They are now thinking a wire short. I am thinking maybe another sensor, or a relay. Because a shorted wire will not consistently short out after 2 hours time. then after the initial 2 hour light it will come back on in only 30 minutes that day. after it sits overnight you can again get 2 hours of work before the light comes back on. Is there a corporate office that would have some insight on this particular problem. Thanks

I got the tractor back from the dealer on 10/06/21. The PWR SFT TEMP was fixed by changing these two sending units. 72503808 and 72506415. While they had it I had them put on a new throttle cable from the hand lever down to the foot pedal linkage. Out of all that the red light PWR SFT TEMP was fixed. And the temp gauge went to working as well. HOWEVER, as you might have guessed, whenever you take something to the shop, you might get what you wanted fixed. But you will loose something. What I lost was the Front wheel assist and the differential lock. Neither of those worked when I got the tractor back. So after I got done with harvest, I took the tractor back to get those two things fixed. Now they tell me that the soleniod on the front axle pumpkin is bad, and that soleniod is no longer available. SO, they are trying to get a used soleniod from a scrap yard. Is there a cross reference number for that solenoid? And of course there is a electrical short going to the Diff lock, so no news on that end. Thanks.

I certainly would not be paying for these repairs. The tractor went to the dealer with these items working and came back with them not working, correct? That means whatever they did broke the tractor.
