Chevy Lug Nuts

I'm doing front brakes on my 98 Chevy 3500 tractor hauler. The lug nuts are too big for a 21 mm socket and too small for a 22mm socket, 7/8 is loose but works. Do they make a socket that fits snuggly on these?? 7/8 and 22mm fit about the same but I'm afraid of rounding the edges off of the nuts when I torque them to 140 ft lbs. Thanks, Chris

7/8 is the right size,use a six point socket.

If you use a 6 point socket and make sure you keep it seated as deep on the nut as you can, you probably won't round the nuts.

Get a 6 point 7/8 deep impact socket. Strong and heavy, it won't split or stretch like a regular socket.

Are these the shiny covered type, they probably were 21mm but they rust under the covers and swell. Snap on makes a 21.5mm and a 19.5 mm socket for that reason

Thanks, I see Amazon has a 21.5mm flip socket for under $15 plus shipping, I'll order one.

If that bad may want to put new nuts on it. Not that costly, and easier than fooling with it on the road.
