Posted on the MF Forum but figured I might get a quicker answer here, was out in back of pasture while ago and belt started squeaking and immediately went to smoking, shut tractor off. Havent checked it yet as I walked back to house to fix some lunch. What should I look for when I get back? Dont believe its the alternator as I think the pulley on it will turn, tractor has a front end loader on it and may be aggravating to see what the problem is

Pulled alternator, thats my problem, feels like bearings are shot in it. Tractor only has 248 hours on it. I noticed this alternator is made in Poland

96 degrees here, I was out in the open sunshine pulling alternator, thinking about driving to the nearest store and sitting down in the walk in beer cooler till I cool off

It might be repairable though.

The bearing are usually standard off the shelf bearings. As long as they didn't spin in the housing or on the shaft, it might can be saved.
