Planning to use more straw in next year's garden.
This looks clean of oat seeds. None in truck or on floor

Put straw in pole barn loft along with mouse bait.

Any straw gardeners? We had great success with straw potatoes this year.
 
George, My son has been selling bales for $4 each for several years.
He round baled 1300 bales this year an 1300 squares.
A company comes and gets the rounds and rebales them to small squares.
 
Around Halloween people sell straw for $5 and amish raised mums along the road in my hood..Buy for 2 and sell for 5, good business model.
 
tried doing that several years ago when we used to sell small square to hy-vee stores. rye straw was by far best seller. all we ever got was manure when we tried to grow stuff in them. we got 7 dollars bale back then. also made bales 16x16 inches sold as halloween cubes. i even built a mini baler that made 4x6 inch bales $10.00 we got out of them. we just used it as mulch when we used to have our big gardens. now are gardens are poly stock tanks raised beds
 
I'm talking orders. Sell straw wholesale for $$4. Discount for large orders over 100 bales.
 
$2 may include a good neighbor discount.
BTW, I never asked the price. I saw him outside yesterday. Stopped in and asked if he had straw. He said stop by in morning around 9. I stopped in this morning. In the yard were 20 bales with a cardboard sign. Take what you want and put money in truck next to pile.
This guy does a lot of hay and straw.
 
good for you i am clear out of doing that anymore. the ground i used to make bales on i now have it all in the crp program.
 
Cost about 60 cents to bale but the hauling is what costs depending on who you can con into helping and theyll usually only do it once after they find out its work no matter what you pay them which is usually about 50 cents a bale
