I posted on the JD board as well, but I know there is a lot of knowledge here as well.
I just bought a 1967 JD 4020 with a GB 900 loader (see attached pic..not the best but sale picture). The tractor is really slick and very low houred for it's age.
My question is that the tractor only has one set of remotes and I want to keep them open. The loader is actually ran by a PTO Pump, not the SCV. The PTO Pump works great, but I would like to use this tractor with a small baler and possibly a rotary mower so I would like the PTO free as well.
I know that some have moved the PTO hyd pump from the rear to the front PTO shaft, but I am thinking that front shaft is 1000rpm so I don't think I can make that work.
Is there a way to plumb the loader into a Power Beyond type set up? I am thinking that doesn't work on the older 4020's the same as the newer ones. Anyone been down this road? Thanks a lot - Bob
