Similar to tractor fever - How do I value my old Ducati

This isn't much different than the tractors we all own! When I was around 22 years old I bought an old Ducati 160 motorcycle (early to mid 1960's model???). I believe I put rings in it and maybe refreshed the carburetor. Ran well, but never did buy the annual license for it. I do have a title. Neighbor guy and I took turns running it around our end of town a few times. Always figured I would just get rid of it. Well, 45 years later I am thinking of getting rid of it. Turns over like did 45 years ago with the kick starter. Might even start if I sprayed some gas in the carb. Been in my storage shed all of that 45 years. Picture is the actual model I have. Any ideas what a vintage Ducati motorcycle is worth or how it should be sold? Thanks.

Unless you are hurting for money, itll be one of those life experiences that youll regret selling it. I have many regrets from selling some really collectible cars and trucks. Wingnut

I would put a value of $1000 on it (cleaned and waxed up, and with compression not running) $1500 to 2500 if running, and as much a 6K if punning and very clean/straight and shiny. Jim

I have come to the realization that I have other stuff I am more interested in such as tractors. After all it has sat in the shed for 40 some years. Isn't there a saying that if you don't use something in 6 months get rid of it????

Why not do some Google searching on Ducati owners clubs, etc. and then join up, just like you've done here at YT? Here's a site from Great Britain below but I'm sure they're to be found world wide. Advice and information doesn't have to come from the next town, it can come from half way around the world and be valuable, even for values. See the link below .....

I have an old Cycle magazine(the first of many)from 1969 that has an add for a Ducati Scrambler 250 or 350. Single cylinder, very good looking bike.

Ducati lightweights are well respected and quite collectible. Use the interweb to do your research and you may be pleasantly surprised at the number of serious collectors out there. As with any vintage bike, condition and rarity set the price.
I sold a BSA 441 Victor Special last year that I owned for 35 years. After the usual number of tire kickers, a knowledgeable gentleman showed up with cash and a trailer, and the Beezer went to a new home. Now if I could just make that work for some of my tractor herd....... unc
