Three BIG events for Iowa yesterday--The state fair opened--The field of dreams ball game--and in town the world famous Oscar Myer wiener mobile was here!! I just went to the see the big wiener mobile--had it in store parking lot. Kinda neat--The hot dog was good too..---Tee

I watched more MLB last night than I watched in the last 10 years!--I think it was a good game..

Facts about the wiener mobile--they have 6 of them..
 
I use to have lunch with the guy, that thought the wiener mobile up.in Madison Wisc.He was a nice older gentleman when i met him,he was very interesting!
 
I have actually seen the Wenniemobile!

With my own eyes! Unplanned, unexpected, there it was cruising down the freeway in all it's glory!

Made for a very special day!
 
I watched the game not so much for baseball, but the comments the announcers made during it. It was fun to see an over the fence ball land in a corn field, they said a storm came thru couple days earlier and corn was down. I don't remember how many fiberglass rods they put in and zip the corn so it would stand up.

It looks like the WienerMobile had a chassis upgrade since I saw it at the Iowa State Fair in the late 1960's
 
And to think, the big city American league boys from New York got beat by the big city American league boys from Chicago. And it happened in the country. I'm glad the anti-city YT crowd weren't part of the welcoming committee.
 
The Wienermobile in Kirksville MO is on a 3/4 ton chassis. Just sits,maybe they just park the old ones at the plants around the country.
 
I see one occasionally cruising around south east Idaho. It looks just like the one pictured but it does have dual wheels in the back. The local roller skating rink used to have a car that was a VW chassis made up to look like a roller skate. I don't know if they still have it or not. I heard that it was top heavy and it got tipped over a couple of times.
