Diesel plastic barrel

I want to store a little diesel. Is it ok to store diesel in a blue food grade barrel or is steel better?

Well, since so many tractor tanks these days are plastic, I think it would be OK.

Plastic barrels are just fine.Plus...they don't rust!

As long as it is clean you should be ok.

Keep barrel under cover...... Barrel will breath and if water is on top of Barrel you will get water in diesel

I have plastic tanks on a couple of diesel tractors, must be ok.

All plastics are not the same. Plastic barrels are generally made of polyurethane, which is suitable for diesel storage.

Depends on the plastic. I tried a piece of Anhydrous line for a fuel line one time long ago. About 24 hours later the side popped out of the side of the line. Had to replace it. What a mess in the field.

Fuel tanks are generally made of polyethylene not polyurethane.
True for plastic 55 gallon drums also.
The big 275 or 330 gallon caged totes also.

Use blue or black plastic one to keep the fuel in the dark.
