About a month ago my 1456 went down
About 5 miles from home.I made up a tow bar. My neighbor helped me tow it today. He used a 4320 John Deere tractor.Poor Red may never get over the shame of being drug home by GREEN tractor
LOL

At least it was not towed by an Allis. Was at tractor pulls down to Hallsville last Saturday. One of the pulling tractors was an Allis and it is for sale. DOUG

Any minute that SV guy will show up with Barney Fife . Complaining about the quality of your tow bar and maligning your Red tractor - talking big about green tractors. I think you should hide now.

That's OK- get the 1456 fixed and when it gets cold you can pull the 4320 back after it has gelled up:)

I was on a tractor ride a few years ago where the lead tractor, a Farmall SMTA, ran out of gas and was pulled the rest of the way home by a JD 4020 diesel. A bit embarrassing because both tractors belonged to the same person.

That front mount fuel tank on the Deere is much more prone to jell and it takes more precautions to prevent it that on a IH. Worked on both dealerships. As for breakdowns, we never ran out of work in either dealership.

I was in a 4th of July parade a few years ago with estimated 20,000 people along the way. I cut the throttle back a little too far and my Farmall A quit. I looked around and all around me were John Deere tractors. All of a sudden 3 guys that I knew came running out of the crowd and rolled my tractor so I could pop start. Wow what a relief.

A few years back, a Farmall and a Deere both broke down in a local parade. They hooked a Deere to the Farmall and vise versa.

When we used to do a lot of boating we had an Evinrude OB, I just loved to tow in a Mercury! Now Evinrude is out of business and Mercury is doing well!
