Plastic fuel tank leak

On my White 2-110 there is a leak where the tire rubbed. It is no longer available from AGCO so I need to repair it. Does anyone here have experience and know what product to use? Is 3M Scotch Weld Structural Plastic Adhesive the correct product. It is available on ebay.

I have used it and sometimes it works. Fuel is hard to hold. You need to remove the tank, lay it on damaged side up in the sun for a few days. Spray it with starting fluid ever time you walk by. Then take sand paper and rough up the area and apply liberally . Let it dry for at least 24 hours or more and hope for the best. If it is in a part of the tank that flexes may be hard to hold.

Most starting fluid has a lubricant in it now. Use carb or brake cleaner to clean it with.

Any auto parts store will have a plastic tank repair kit. But you will have better results if you take it off and dry the hole out.

see if you have a local auto body shop that has a nitrogen plastic welder. it is the latest and greatest for all types of plastic repair. for a hundred or so, depending on the damage they can weld it shut as a permanent repair. here is a link to the welder.

I will spend some time to find a shop that has such a welder.
Thanks for all the tips, guys.

Plastic welding works but most professional will not touch a fuel tank. I fixed mine with ultra silicone and a sheet of metal that I slipped into the tank after predrilling the holes to run bolts through. A spot weld to hold bolts in and nuts on outside and cut the bolts after if yo long.

My local Radiator Shop Repairs plastic tanks. I had my tractor tank done in 2016 by them, It is still holding. Cookeville Radiator Repair , Cookeville Tn.
