From searching on line I can find some manuals on YR models, no YS models. It appears there are forward and reverse clutches inside the transaxle. Forward clutch may have failed if the linkage is shifting into forward.

I had a similar problem with a hydro Husqvarna conventional riding mower recently. Got on the Garden forum and posted the
complaint and one of the responders said it was a linkage problem. Sure enough, the lever operated by the foot pedal and attached
rod had broken. I unbolted it (removed), welded it back together, reinstalled and good as new.
