Kubota RTV Question for JM or Others in the Know

I've been looking for a used RTV for a while now. I've kind of want a x900 or x1120.

My question is in regards to miles, since these show both hours and miles. Do the miles really matter? I found a reasonably priced x900 with 2000 hrs and 18,000 miles. I guess that averages out to 9 mph. Other than u joints, wheel brgs, etc, do the miles really affect anything else?

Is this a normal amount of miles for the hours?

I guess its not an issue on the older ones as they don't have an odometer.

Thanks for any input.

My opinion, it's not the miles as much as the maintenance history.
Another important factor is the dealer's service department.
It took me 5 years to figure out what was wrong with my 4010 mule, dealer's service department couldn't.
Something else to consider. Who used it? Was used by a city's park department or used by a kid running through the mud.

Follow jm's advice. He's the Book of Knowledge.

First off the X 900 is an improved 900 LOTS better machine in several ways. 2000 hrs is mid range the engines are 4500+ easy . The plain 900s had a problem with over heating and cracked heads that was one of the things that was addressed in the X improvement. The market on those things has gone wild, and sad to say MOST folks never pay attention to hours or miles they only want looks. you are right in the u joints are early indication of wear however again the x series has greaseable u joints. You will like the machine.

I can personally tell you about them cracking heads. Why did they put the radiator where it will pack full of mud?

I have a Kubota RTV 1140
I traded my 900 in on it because I now have Grand children
and they like to go for rides.
its been a great machine, a work horse sometimes maybe a bit under powered
with certain type loads when going up a hill .
I would buy another one for sure.

Kubota doesn't have the exclusive market on blocked radiators. Neighbor

Says he has to blow out he radiator before he mowes.

This one is under the seat and mud gets thrown up on it real easy.. or it did before it overheated and scraped the motor.

Have you ever seen a 500 jump time. I brought mine with 1000hr on it been meaning to look at the timing belt I am at 1200 hr. now. I aske the local shop manager he said they had never put a belt on one... Truth be know if a major repair was needed they talk them into a new one...
