Oliver 770 Carb leaking

Hey all, this is my first time using this site, so I apoligize if this topic has been hashed out in the past. I have an Oliver 770 and there is gas leaking from the bottom L-shaped jet. It is leaking enough that it is noticeable enough and collects in a bucket I have underneath it. It should be noted that I don't notice any issues with the tractor running rough and it seems to run like it should. Just the issue with the gas leaking from the jet, and just a little from the choke area as well. Any suggestions? I have thought about tightening up the screw that the jet goes into, but I don't know if this will mess up how the tractor runs or if that only happens if I twist the L-shaped jet itself. Thanks

The one in my 66 was leaking, but worse than that,it kept turning by itself from vibration. I took that nut off and took the needle
out. I got in to my o ring selection, took the smallest one I had, worked it down in the nut with a pick and put it back together.
Been over a year and so far so good.

Try tightening the packing nut without turning the L shaped screw. Be gentle, just snug it. If it
is already tight, don't force it.

Instead, turn the L shaped screw, carefully count the turns until it just bottoms. Then take it
out, remove the packing nut. You will need to add something to tighten the packing. Put the L
shaped screw back through the nut, add a small oring, or wrap some twisted teflon tape so it goes
down inside the nut. Put it back together, return the screw to the counted position off the seat,
snug the nut.

Snugging the nut should stop the leak and secure the screw so it doesn't turn on it's own. If it's
still loose or leaking, take it apart and add more teflon tape.
