Nh wobble box sprocket

My wobble box has a 12 tooth sprocket, the used one has a 16 tooth, for the reel drive, I cut grass hay, and seemed to work fine with the 12 tooth, just wondering why the other has a 16 tooth, for a different reel speed I guess, any input? Thank you.

Yes got lucky, it was 40 minutes from me, now Im debating whether to put this thing together and get rid of it, ???

Nothing, rolls arent the best, once I get it put back together Ill run it and see how it goes I also have a second 489 for parts That had a junk box

What ever you plan to do, put a new reel drive sprocket on it or you'll have two junk boxes. The #40 chain will jump off, wrap around the shaft and snap the end clean off and both yours are done........Ron

Looks like gear box didnt have any oil in it . To bad , I hear they are costly fixes. Just getting into operated disc mowers . Read as many post a I can about the wobble boxes operating.

That makes for a faster reel speed. When the sprocket on mine wore out I went to the bigger one. It works much better in down hay.
