Off-topic: Transport of a bulky item from RI to OH

Hi, an acquaintance recommended I post my request on this forum. I am wondering if anyone is willing to transport a Model A Ford seat frame (25" tall x 45" wide x 25" F-B, weight about 30 lbs) from Rhode Island to West Central Ohio, that is, if they are coming to OH anyway. UPS was prohibitive at $400 and the Postal Service will not take it. The town is East Greenwich, Rhode Island. If there are no takers, not a problem. I will only buy the seat frame if I can arrange transport (I mostly know this is not going to happen, but thought I would ask).
Thanks.

To the left on the classic view page is a hauling schedule. It may be of service. Fastenal Corp has a logistics service that moves product and items
from Fastenal to Fastenal locations I have used it and found it modest in cost, and easy to use. Jim

I'll second the Hauling Schedule. We got a Case tractor hauled from mid Michigan to southern Indiana by posting on there a few
years ago.

In addition to the Fastenal suggestion, check with Greyhound bus service. They offer shipping but only terminal to terminal and space available. So schedule is variable as is will only move when the bus luggage compartment has room.

Other options include Greyhound Bus lines (I shipped a 40 tractor rim that way) and Fastenal. You just have to drive to the nearest bus terminal or Fastenal outlet to pick it up.

This information is several years old, so they may not be doing that these days, but it's worth a phone call.

find what they call a Hot Shot hauler. These guys are flexible and pretty cheap. These are the pick ups on
the highway you see with the 5th wheel trailer. They are everywhere

Talk about bad timing a friend of mine drove from RI. to Wisconsin with an empty 12 ft. equipment trailer he left Sunday probably arrived home yesterday.

Blue Line Freight (Fastenal) can ship it.
Were very reasonable for me San Diego to West Florida.

You have to get buyer to put it on a standard pallet and crate it.
The buyer then has to take it to a Fastenal store.
Cranston, RI is only store in RI, maybe another just outside of RI?
And pick it up at nearest Fastenal store near you.

If shipping via truck, I would build crate on pallet or a 2x4 "cage"
Shaped like a tent over your item.
That shape will prevent other crates being stacked on top of yours.
Usually.

In the last month I saw the first Greyhound bus I had seen in twenty some years, Thought at that time they were out of bussiness. Used to be on a regular North-south and east-west roue.
