David Brown Thresherman. Originally a David Brown Tug used by the Royal Air Force but a
lot were unsold so DB added a front pulley and sold them as a specialist threshing

Very heavy (bullet proof?) 3/8 inch thick fenders, obviously weight for towing bombers etc.

Sounds like one of those situations where someone ramped up production for the war, then got caught with excess product. Do you know when this happened? Before, during, or after the war?

From 1941 to 1949, The tractor seems to have started life as a crawler designed to Ministry specs. That project failed so the tractors were converted to a wheeled tractor for towing bombers then, after the war, became the Thresherman.
