This Farmall M is up for auction this Sunday. Im interested in the
tires and 3 point, if I can get it to run that would be a bonus. Sale bill
says it hasnt run in 5 years. Gas tank smells like it hasnt seen a
fresh gallon of gas since about 1947. Dont know if the engine is free
it was parked on an incline I didnt want to take it out of gear. Looks
like one brake is stuck ( drag mark in the gravel). Bad wiring. 6 volt
system with a Ford starting solenoid wired in for some reason. Still
has the old starting tank under the hood. So what is your best guess
on what the winning bid will be? Ill update this after the sale. Well
see if I get lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it.

SV, if you would pay $1300 a piece for a non running M in that condition I would bring you a semi load of them next month. And if they did not have a 3 point I would only charge a $1000 for those.

Last December a nice running M with aftermarket wide front sold for $900. That's the first M I've seen sell in ten years that sold for more than $600. Last Sept a 39 H sold for $600. The one and only bid.

3pts last I saw were well over $500.

I'm going to say $600.

You want it,buy it. He who says I don't want to pay too much usually come empty handed and dosapointed.

The real question is, What is it worth to you? You can buy it for $1200. Take the 3pt off of it and switch the wheels and tire from it to your tractor. Then get it running and sell it for $700 and and you will have only paid $500 for good tires and a 3pt. That is a good deal in my book. The guys that are giving you low ball offers are not interested in it, but you are. If you need the 3pt, but pass on this because you were afraid some one might be critical of the price you paid, the end result is that you still don't have the equipment that you wanted.

Price out the individual parts you want if you tried to buy them (IF you can find them) on the open market. The rest can be parted out or sold for scrap. I think that you will be in the $1000 range.

nce he takes the good stuff off, the rest is worth 7 cents a pound.

To be honest here 650 , That is and OLD M , old style PTO , Mag , good sheet metal one set of donuts , no swing draw bar good tires and rims. What will it bring probably a lot more . Last M that i had was taken in on trade for a 706 and it was Plum slap Junk , jumped out of third thru fifth gears, engine was a skeeter fogger and tires were wore out , sent that one off to a sale and was hopen for 4-600 out of it , It brought 1450 and the auctioneer called it as JUNK . The person that held the sale every month told me that he was shocked at what it brought and from that day on all M's were sold as JUNK and why people will get crazy over stuff is something i will never understand . Yes i bought god knows how many dead row 706's and any I H with a bad T/A and put them back to work as this was how i made a living .
