Some Old Fashioned Summerfallow

I sprayed my other fallow fields but left this 40 acre field at home for the cattle in case i run out of pasture in this drought. It was sprayed in June and caught a few rains so had a good growth of weeds, volunteer oats, etc. I wanted to work some of it with the spikes on the 22 foot cultivator but found a wasp nest in the frame right beside the flat tire I need to pump up. So decided to hitch up the old Massey one way disker. It worked better than expected cutting in deep enough to get the weeds. At 90 degrees in the hot sun the weeds don't stand a chance.

(quoted from post at 20:36:50 07/22/21) Got the ac working good in the Case?
Yes, we got a new clutch on the compressor back in June when it quit. Ice cold air when I fiip the switch. Still haven't installed the temperature control sensor so its an on-off switch I have to control myself.

Great picture there Rusty. I really enjoy your pictures and videos. Especially the cattle and Case equipment. Thank you sir.

Thanks Kurt. I should have taken a picture of the cattle for you as they were at the far end of the field I was working. They are suffering the heat and flies standing in a bunch and pawing up the newly worked loose dirt. They seem to like the volunteer oats better than grass. I'm lucky to only have a small herd and hopefully adequate pasture. I don't know what some of the bigger operators are going to do as the grass is just not getting enough rain to re-grow.

(quoted from post at 20:42:07 07/23/21) Looks about right to me, Rusty! How's your crops - any hail damage from that storm a while back?
Hi Jim. Looking pretty good considering. There is hail damage and still waiting on the adjustors to get out for a look but I doubt there will be a very high percentage damage. Cooler smoky weather is helping. Some fields are losing most of the bloom but i still have mostly yellow on this field anyway.
