Shop lighting

I am trying to light up my old auto repair shop with new led tubes. I use the shop to house my two Case 400 farm tractors.I am looking to replace my one pin tubes with 45 watt leds. Would it be better to get90 watt tubes? Has anyone been thru the process, who could help with this. I have 16 two tube fixtures to change over. Thanks in advance for any help or advice. Brian

I installed new LED fixtures rather than mess with ballast and old fruorescent fixtures.

I have a new 30' x 48' pole barn that I'm going to run electric in soon, and have been researching the lighting options. After looking into it, I too am going to go with the LED option and will most likely be buying them from Rural King.

I got these, very happy with them.

I've replaced a string of the 8' Slimline (single pin) with the higher wattage, dual strip lamps.

The only place I have found the dual strip is Ebay and Amazon. I have had mixed results, several have failed because of the undersized electronics. Bought some replacements from a different seller. they are exactly the same, same failures.

But before this I bought some 8' HO lamps for a different part of the shop, appear to be exactly the same just different sockets. They have worked several years now without a single failure. No idea why...

Thanks to all who posted about my shop lights. I think I will go with the lower wattage tubes. Have had problems with the single contact pins needing cleaned or no light.Ballasts shure are expensive. Thans again, Brian

i bought rectangular high bay lights and threw all my 4 footers out. No more stupid tubes for me

We do not have Rural King in my area but everyone has eBay and Amazon. I bought my lights from eBay but Amazon has a better selection. I wouldn't bother with toting lights out of a store when I can get FedEx to tote them to my porch.
