White 6065 Forward/Reverse Synchronizer

I think the forward/reverse synchro is going in our White 6065. Based on my understanding I am going to need to split the tractor just ahead of the seat to access it and that it is the top shaft accessed from the front of the transmission housing. Any experience/thoughts/suggestions from those that have been into one of these before would be much appreciated. Just looking to have a good idea as to what I am going to be getting into. Any tips/tricks?

I would highly recommend you purchase a repair manual prior to opening this up. Probably save you a lot of headaches. Looks like Jensales has one for $60. I suspect that ..service.. means repair or disassemble and reassemble, check before purchasing.
 
I was under the understanding that Jensales manuals were blurry and not clear to read. I could be wrong. Never had one to use. Though when I have looked at their manuals on line they were less than stellar to read.
 
I agree on the quality of Jensales manuals. This was a while ago, early 90's, we ordered one for the Super M, expecting to get a "reproduction" as in a manual that at least looked like the original. It was a poor photocopy bound with those plastic "fingers."

Also bought their "12V conversion kit" for the same tractor. Advertised specifically, "Fits Farmall M, Super M..." It was a one-wire alternator. That's it. No brackets. No instructions. Just an alternator that we could have gotten at NAPA for half the price.

I hoped they'd improved since then but it seems like they haven't at least as far as the quality of their manuals...
 

Agree their manuals are a crap shoot. But if it's that or nothing, they serve the purpose. Peaceful Creek has better quality IMO, but is limited in choice.
 
I think those were built by SAME/Lamborghini, so the average White/Oliver guy might not be of much help. You might be on your own with that one. When you're done, you might be the resident expert on them.
