Found a IH 806

Original owner has let it set for 4 or 5 years. Problem, it won't start - won't run except for the starting fluid sprayed in the air filter.

We think the lines from the fuel pump to filters are incorrectly installed. I can't find a diagram of picture to show how these lines are suppose to run. Right now there is one coming out of the pump and right back into the pump. My brother believe one line has to go the primary filter.

Any one have picture or diagram showing these fuel line?

Go to your local farm store and buy am
I&T repair manual.Or order one right
here from YT.you will find all the pics
you need, plus a lot of necessary info.

Plus u need to tell us what pump u have. Or take a picture of the whole
engine side I can get a pic of mine

Check out the Case IH parts books. It appears there were two different systems (E-20 and E-23 in the index) based on serial number. Click here: 806 Parts Catalog

Just beware that after setting 4-5 years, things can stick inside injection pumps and turning it over may have made it worse. I'm not saying it is stuck, or won't run without a pump rebuild, but the chance exists.

As for posting pictures. Not always, but in many cases new users have to have 5 or more posts on record before the site lets them post pictures, due to site spam filters. Another option is to go down to the Site Comments Forum and ask YT Support for permission to post prior to that. You can try going down to the Test Forum and making several posts there to get your post count up, trying to attach your pictures to each post. That may work after you make several posts. Then make your post here again. It may not work immediately after you get past the 5 posts, if not, you might try logging out and back in at that point. There is a size limit as well, I think it is a total of 7mb per post (be it one picture or the total of several). Some pictures (often taken with phones), are too large and have to be reduced before they will post.

I live out in the country. The only thing I have is Dial Up. Down loading a service manual is impossible for me.

I don't see how pictures are posted.

New description. There is no line from the pump going to the filters, either one of them. The line on the pump feeds right back into the pump. It's one big loop. The line, made as it is, looks to go to the rear most filter.

I've got pictures, but I don't see how to post them here. Nearest tractor dealer is John Deere. I believe there is a CASE/IH in Galesburg, Illinois, about 50 miles from me.

You do not have to download the parts book, you will be looking at it on line. Just click on this link:

806 Parts Catalog .

It will open to the index page for the fuel systems. Look down the list to E-21 and E-23. You just have to click on one of those to see that system. The two systems are for different serial numbers, pick the group that includes the tractor serial number you are working on.

As for posting pictures. Please read what I posted about pictures for you before. You currently show 5 posts so within the next couple post you should be able to include pictures. Which forum view are you using, Classic or Modern? The posting instructions are different for each of them so know which you are using will get you the right help.

If the line goes from the side of the pump on a fitting to the bottom and across to the other side you have an IH RD pump. And no that line is exactly right there is a line from the filters to the other side of that fitting. The low pressure pump is on the back end of the injection pump. Will have a row of small bolts around the outside edge. They are probably 12 point heads. Simplest pum made for them. Easy to pull and Expensive to fix. They quit making them before they quit making the tractor. The other pump they used is no better since it is a Roosa-Master. I doubt it is the lines or the pump. You do need to pull the throttle wide open to start and slow down quickly as it starts. Will idle fine. I would try bleeding it and check fuel for junk in it. Also did somebody happen to turn off the fuel by some chance. with good filters and air out it should come to life really easy. Get back to me if you have more problems with it. I just swapped mine out this spring.

Do not know if this is what you need but here are a couple of 806D pictures. I know nothing about these tractors but remembered you wanted a picture of the systems.

Bottom picture is what I have. Got my brother on it. He's a retired truck/diesel mechanic. Got the lines re-routed, bled the lines and bled the injector lines. I don't know how he checked it, but fuel pressure to all points is good (he says).

Got it running. Sounds good, healthy, strong. But, it won't start on it's own - even with throttle wide open - tries, but just won't go. A short shot of ether is needed. Brother believes the pump isn't guite timed right. He's checking the timing now. Told me to stay out of the way (I can do that)..

Sitting so long things don't want to work. So we're fixing one thing at a time. Found the water pump shot. Powering steering isn't working. 3 point hitch works. Tried the gears and brakes, all good. Steering not working I could check forward gears and reverse...

My brother is something else. Retired he's always looking for something to do.

Okay...We've sorted more....We took pictures before changing fuel lines around.

Yes, it is a IH pump........

It is mess....The owner told us he drove it home this way. Brother says there is no way he drove this tractor.

Okay, runs, sounds great, strong, smooth as silk, throttle up and throttle back down with no issues. We drained the old fuel out and put in new. Still won't start on it's own. Short of ether and it starts.

Again, these before we changed lines pictures.

Can't help with your IP, sorry. Sounds like your on your way though.

Got to say though,

Whoa! Good for you for coming online!

Had to look it up:
(https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/otm/articles/why-are-2-million-people-still-signed-aols-dial-internet), from a 2014 article, but still

"According to a Pew survey from last August, 3% of Americans still use dial-up internet at home. That means that AOL actually only has a small chunk of the dial-up internet -- three percent of Americans translates to around 9 million people"

I've been off line since I last posted. So much for AT&T quick to fix phone problems. Just now got back on line.

I see my pictures didn't take. I was having on line issues then.

No doubt worthless now, but seeing a nightmare is worth a few chosen words.....

So fuel lines straightened out after the nightmare you see here. Hydraulic leak found and corrected (wrong bolt). So low on hydraulic fluid the steering wouldn't work. Only 7 gallons low

Thought steering was air locked. Jacked up the front end and moved the wheels by hand. Got left to work, but from center to right wouldn't. Brother gave it a helping hand (ouch). Something gave and steering started working. Drove it a bit and it was great. Engine sounding strong.
All things going well and we filled the radiator and the water pump began leaking. Headed for Galesburg,ILL. in morning for rebuilt water pump. This should just about end the big work. Just little things now, worn bolts, loose wires.
Will have right at $3200 in it. Previous owner threw in another rim and tire. Says he might have two more - had duals at one time.

Of the 2nd pic, that isn't oil spillage or grime build up. My brother said that was caused by a fire. The hose, it a steel wrap around band and it's melted into the hose. Other things he pointed out gave of it being on fire.
