Big Waukesha at Tuckahoe

Here are some pics from the steam and gas show at Tuckahoe on Maryland's eastern shore.

The big Waukesha came out of a hospital in Cincinnati. The owner was able to idle it down to about 40 rpm.

My big purchase at the flea market was a 60" two-man crosscut saw. Twelve bucks. I'll put it up for display unless I run across any five-foot trunks. Photos are slow to upload, this will have to do for now.

Greetings from Waukesha county Wisconsin. Waukesha
motors is a shadow of its self. To many corporate maneuvers.
And thanks for spelling Waukesha correctly

Thanks for the news from Waukesha. Can't say I know much about their engines or history but I see them from time to time from little ones to big units like this. My only suggestion to the owner of this one would be to remove the generating unit since he's not doing anything with it and see if it can generate some scrap value that might defray the cost of the whole thing. Also, he has it mounted on his lowboy trailer and there is just enough room with a few inches to spare between the big Waukesha and another engine mounted forward. Remove the generator and he could put a third engine on the trailer for the next show.

For your reply you get a bonus pic--my five foot cross-cut saw I bought at the show. It's there if you look closely, posed against the split wood. I guess a lot of them saw retirement when chainsaws came on the scene. Hard to beat a two-man crosscut for a good upper body workout, though.
