looking at an 855 baler and it has the electric tie on it. there is a 2 wire plug on the cord, so to make this thing work what all is involved? do i just run a plug in from my tractor and do i need any sort of switch to operate this thing, no idea how it works. it has 2 twine needles , so is each one only doing half the bale?

If it does not have a monitor/controller for in the cab I would throw out a guess that it is auto tie.

The two wires would then probably be to activate a buzzer or light in the tractor to tell you when to stop.

Open the right hand shield and take a picture of the pulleys under then I can tell what tie system it has

lucky i took this picture. baler is one hr. away. i should have taken the twine set up also.

I have not bought this one yet till I figure out whats with this twine set up. If I need a controller then no sense buying it. If it was hyd. Tie I would take it. Its just a baler someone bought at auction now selling it and he knows nothing about it. Only thing is price is right.

Auto wrap When full to set roll size it automaticaly drops twine arms to tie. That box is just another way to tell you have full bale.

That has the auto wrap dont need a monitor. Watch the bale size and when its full a little stop sign drops down it wraps and your done let it go start another bale

ok so you are saying when the bale is ready to wrap it does it by its self? that is good as i watch all that ,i dont need beepers and sensors. but what i want to know is what operates those twine arms??? no manual with this thing.

When the bale is full moves that linkage that pulley has a clutch in it when the arm trips it drives and thats what runs the arms . That baler will make 1200 pound bales at 7 mph in heavy hay . Its a totally different animal compared to the old new holland poof ball makers

guess i better find out if its auto tie or electric tie ... so how do you tell? i am waiting on you SV.

ya i got one of those puff ball 851's sure hate those puff balls! so is this called a hard core ?

I didnt realize that it was only capable of baking at one mile per hour and still cant make a decent bale . Load em on the truck and unload em at the stack and when you feed em your left with a loaf stack

You should have read the manual, its says make as BIG of a windrow as you can, that field you just cut I could probably go around it with my NH 256 rake about 10 or 12 times to get a good windrow to bale then run slow but you don't have to go around the field with the baler nearly as may times.

This make as heavy of a bale as you want and they are hard and the twine is wrapped tight it will make a one ton bale if you crank the pressure to it .

It would make a nice looking bale but they were not tight enough by the time by the time you handled them two or three times they were a loaf stack with a little twine on em

One more thing...this baler uses truck air bags/springs for tension (at least mine does)...you'll want to see if they leak. New Holland is $500 ea. for the bags, can cross reference to aftermarket for a lot less. Don't know for sure, but I bet aftermarket is up to 5-600 or so for the pair. Just sayin...

Mine is hyd tie, can't help with that.

If you do buy it, replace the hollow tubes (they can bend) that unlatch the tailgate to solid rod...can mess things up...ask me how I know

Mine has been a good to me.
