So I have recently acquired a Wagner WM4 from a friend. I want to put it on my 52 8N. Looking at the manual Ive found on the forums and the parts they sell Im still a little confused on exactly what I need to attach the pump.

You need the correct pulley for the crank shaft. Then you need the hub that bolts to it and the correct spline shaft that fit is and the hub that goes on the pump.

If you put more then a bushel basket in the bucket regularly the front end will be broke if you can steer it. Not a tractor that wants a loader on it. No weight in the rear to hold it down. light tractor to begin with, weak front ends, and no power steering. good luck.

Matthew, ask your question down on the Ford 8N/9N/2N Forum.
It's just a little farther down the list of forums.
TheOldHokie, "TOH" has everything you need and then some.
While I'm not a fan of a loader on an N series and I agree that it is
a light duty loader, it has been done for many decades and the nay
sayers are blowing smoke because they don't know how to use one
or repair one themselves.
YT does sell the parts, as do many other companies.
If you don't get the answer on that forum, call YT. They're pretty
good with the old Ford stuff in my experience.

I have a 1950 late model 8N with a loader and backhoe. It is hard to keep the front end on the ground due to backhoe weight. I drove it one time in 4th gear and will never do it again.Front wheels where off the ground more then on the ground. I have had it since the early 80s by the way. Dearborn 19-71 loader and Scout backhoe

Royse.
I might argue with some of that :)
I could use, repair, even build a loader
entirely from scratch if I wanted to. And
though I like the little Ns, they are just
about the Last tractor I would put a loader
on.
Furthermore, I would Never put one of those
jungle gym Dearborn or Wagner loaders on
anything.
Imagine having to clamber up the 3 point
and over the back of the seat to get on and
off the tractor.
No sir. Not me.

I am very confident from what I observed back in the sixties that there were more 8Ns with loaders than without. That is not to say that they are as good with a loader as newer tractors but in their day many farmers got a lot more done with them than before with just a wheelbarrow and shovel, and they were able to add probably another dozen cattle and live a far better life.
