Front tires for Farmall H?

TractorData shows 5.50X16 and 6.00X16. Will the 6.00X16 have good clearance? Tractor has mud scrapers that we don't want to remove. I don't have easy access to the tractor to check measurements myself.

Thank you for any advice.
 
I don't have easy access to the tractor to check the size that's on it.

The tractor doesn't belong to me - the owner has helped me on multiple occasions, and won't accept payment for his work. His front tires are worn out and badly checked. I don't want to say anything to him before ordering the tires.
 
just go with what tractor data says , as those two sizes are what it should have. between 6.00 and 5.50 there is little difference.
 
Our 41 H that Grandpa bought in 49 always had 6:00x 16 on it and 11-12.4 rears. Tractor had the non adjustable rims. Tractor left in 1984. I never saw the adjustable type rin ubtill started seeing them at shows so I don;t know how they will work on them. But the 6:00 is size that should have come from factory. Too many companys put undersize tires on when new, don't understand why. JD same way B pressed frame came with the 5:50 as well as the A, changed the B to 6:00 and the A to 6:50 and drove a lot better. And we had the scrapers on the 41 H as well. Go with the 6{00x16 tire.
 
I own quite a few H tractors, If unsure, simply order 600x16 tires,You will be fine and remember to get new tubes
 
If the existing mud scrapers are too close, or touching, you can put spacers between the mount and blade. If the length is an issue and the spacers don't help, elongate the holes with a die grinder to allow a bit of stretch. Jim
 
If the front end is greased neither one the A or the H steer hard enough to be a problem with either tires on them. Ours has 5.50on it. MD has 6.00 on it. Don't see a big deal other than the scrapers and I'll wager they can be bent outward enough to clear and not even notice the difference.
