Great way to show them and enjoy them. And much easier to load up when they are self propelled.

At the local tractor show out here called the great oregon steam up at antique powerland museum, there used to be two similar hit and miss powered homebuilt cars. They were slightly larger and had comfy bench seats. They were called Fun mobile 1 and Fun Mobile 2. I think flat belt and tensioner served as clutch but had auto axles and 4 wheel brakes. Pretty sure each had a rope and brass bell. And I remember something about a tall verticle cage above the exhaust made out of 5 or 6 round rods, and inside was an empty pop can that would kinda dance up and down with the upward force of exhaust. And the round rods kept the empty soda can over the exhaust.

I think a photo of one of them was featured as the daily photo a while back but I cant find it. The back ground of the photo had a huge allus chalmers horizontal steam engine that powered a flour mill years ago.

(quoted from post at 06:25:25 06/14/21) I have wanted to attend the great Oregon steam up for years. I have yet to make it happen....

If you make it out for steam up, I will have a free pass waiting for you as well as a tractor to drive in the parade if you want
