Coolant system flush

'48 A/C model C. Is it safe to do a coolant system flush?
Any risk of the wet cylinder liner seals leaking, or maybe the water pump seal? Or any other problems. Would use a flush compound from auto parts store. Nothing radical.
Thanks.

Why not just drain old coolant? Fill with water run a few days then drain, when you park it next time right after running. Then refill with new coolant.

What I do is drain the old coolant then fill with vinegar and run it till good and warm. Let it cool and drain that and then rig a way to hook up to the block drain and back flush the system with a garden hose. If the system is good that will not cause a problem but if it is iffy it could find a leak which would happen any how sooner or later

I stopped using cooling system flush chemicals about 35-40 years ago when I grew tired of changing water pumps.

Haven't changed a water pump since.
