Before I became retired I would be on vacation from the real job this time of the year just for haying. I always called it my haycation.

why the sad face. My wife on the wagon looks like she couldn't be any happier? Honestly if everything goes right I enjoy haying. Haven't missed a year since I was a kid. Nothing like a good day of baling hay to make you sleep at night!

Today is the wife's and I's anniversary. I can't tell you how many anniversaries were spent in the hay field. That and the 4th of July weekend. All your friends are up at the lake having a good time and you are bucking hay.

Only going 2 high you don't get much on the wagon. though it is much better than going back every 3rd bale to move them so they don't fall off while bale/loading.

Generally go about 7 high depending on the wagon. The wife likes to build 2 high to the front on this wagon then I turn the thrower up and toss them to the back so she doesnt have to walk so far or lift bales as high. As long as you have the help baling right onto wagon has always worked best for us. Helps that fields are all pretty smooth and not too many side hills. Last few fields I have sown down with a Brillion seeder makes for a really smooth field.
