I love the first time i let the cows out in the pasture. I usually tease them as they know I'm gonna open the gate. I stand in the way for a bit and finally let them go. It's a satisfying feeling few people would understand.

We put the salt blocks near the gate to where the next move will be a week or two in advance knowing they will be by for a lick at least once a day.

Come time to move them we just open the gate and leave the rest to them.

Always get the first one or two thinking they are pulling a sneak on us, jumping and running right into where we want them to be.

After the commotion and some mooing the rest soon follow.
