Can you buy those for any size or are they for just certain sizes? Reason for asking is I always buy the Stemco seals for wheel seals on semi axles and the Grit guardian has a wear sleeve with them. I still will only use Stemco seals for wheels. Best seal going. I have nothing to do with Stemco. I have used all brands of seals the Stemco will go 10 years and the rest will only go about 3 years if lucky. They cost the same money with in a dollar or 2. Stemco also has a seal with just a wear sleeve rather than the cup looking deal in the back.

Here's some info--

They are avaible in numerous sizes. The flange and whats behind parting line will break off. The smaller the harder to get it to snap off.

Like the PVC pipe trick. I have gone to an exhaust shop and had exhaust tube expanded to size. The last speedi-sleeve I did was on a Farmall C axle. Had to slide it about two feet. Worked though.

I replied to fixerupper's thread in the John Deere forum. I'm sure this will work great for you. I had trouble with the axles seals wearing thru the sleeve every 3 years with a 610 bobcat. I was afraid of welding them up for fear of breakage. An old bobcat mechanic said do it and it's way over 3 years since I replaced the seal. The thing with the 610 is that the seals hold automatic transmission fluid in the case. The drive chains run in oil.

I've put many a one of them (genuine Speedi Sleeve) on MACK vibration dampers and other components. Looked at their catalog just now and they go up to 20 13/16!!. The big ones have a nice heavy metal cup to put them on that make a good small parts holder too.

It was about 6 oclock when I started my search for a driver and I wasnt sure I was going to find something without a trip to the muffler or iron shop

And it looks like I need to order one more speedi sleeve the other side of the axle has just enough groove I dont think itll hold the seal this side was actually leaking out and on to the tire . I just love a project that should take 45 minutes and turns into a week long after work extravaganza and costs 400$
